Cool new mug idea. Won’t leave rings on tables.
I ran across this new design for a coffee cup that doesn’t require a plastic lid. It’s been created by a company called Compleat.
The designer, Peter Herman, is an architect by trade (so he has some design skills already) and came up with the design in response to a feeling of “awkwardness” with relation to paper and plastic in most current cup designs.
“You have two dissimilar materials,’’ he said. “There’s an awkwardness. In my profession, the pursuit of simplicity is everything.’’
Mr. Herman was also disturbed by the “environmental insult’’ of most disposable cups.
Some people have pointed out (without trying it themselves, I might add) that it looks difficult to drink from with the top open. That may be true, but in the grand scheme of things, I could suffer through it, I think.
What do you think of the design? Good or bad? Let us know in the comments.
What great design from La Distributrice in Montreal.
